The title of the magazine “vibe” is one word to catch the eye of the audience as they walk past the magazine. The central image of the rapper Chris Brown is over the title and this is a common convention as I have already seen because in the Rolling Stone magazine the image of Zac Efron is over the title. The main sub title ties in with the picture because the font is big and is to the left of the image. The question mark at the end of “is that Chris Brown?” makes the audience think of what that is about so that entices the audience to buy the magazine. The list of other things which are going on in the magazine is down the right hand side with a colour scheme of green and white. The white is a contrasting colour against the darker background and the colour contrasting and standing out against the background is a common convention in a music magazine. Unlike the other magazines the barcode is in the bottom left hand corner which is common sense because it wouldn’t fit on the right hand corner because there are titles in the way. The target audience is teenagers because they generally like rap and R&B music but this might appeal to an audience in their early twenties. This magazine follows many codes and conventions of a music magazine with the central image and the short title.
